On June 5, 1968, Presidential Candidate Robert Kennedy was giving a speech at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. Shortly after midnight Kennedy got on stage and gave a speech thanking his supporters for their help in helping him win the presidential nomination. In an attempt to avoid the crowd Kennedy decided to exit through the kitchen pantry, a rout different from what had been planned. Unfortunately for him Sirhan Sirhan a Palestine angered by Kennedys promise to send 50 phantom jets to Israel shot him several times killing him.
If Robert Kennedy had not been killed odds are, he would have lived on to become president. He was a champion for civil rights and drew a hard line against the war in Vitamin. Many Historians believe that if Kennedy had not been assassinated, and voted president the war could have been shortened by several years. However, unfortunately due to the Actions of Sirhan Sirhan we will never know what he could have accomplished.
